The predefined time is set by the user on the LAC Time Out Period screen. If the OS doesn't answer a CT request to manage in a predefined time, the CT automatically becomes the NE manager. The LAC request can be denied by the OS (if for example the OS is in a state of recovery from a temporary loss of communication with the NE). The request is initiated by the user clicking on the Requested button on the menu and then answering yes to the resulting confirmation message.
The OS manages the NE until a request to manage from the Craft Terminal is received (via LAC) and granted. The selection of the NE manager is controlled by the Local Access Control (LAC) function.
